 Hip-Hop/ Rap Artist

Where are you from?

I'm from Texarkana, Tx aka the "Twin City" or as we call it in the hood "Dub City" lol because its right on the border of Texas and Arkansas.  Not many people know about Texarkana, Master P shouted us out though in the Bout It Bout It remix!  We Bout It Bout It lol!  I love my city!  Right now I'm so home sick I'm back and forth between Texas and New York recording and gearing myself up for my next album!

How long have you been making music?

Professionally I have been making music for two years, but I've been writing since I was like 13.  I got discovered by some people in New York while I was stying in the hotel for Making The Band 3 (Danity Kane) I was selected as a finalist and got to go to New York and stay in the hotel with the girls and compete up there.  I didn't make the band, but I hooked up with the independent label Brothel House Records formerly She Records and the rest was history!  I've been signed with the indie for two years, working hard to get that major distribution!

What inspired you to make music?

I remember growing up listening to the legends like 2pac, Nas, Big, Jay, etc and being proud about myself and my culture knowing that these artists are like the spokespeople of our community so it was uplifting to us. I wanted to touch lives similar to the way they did, you know give others a since of security because we're all in the same game.  I was brought up on Geto Boys and UGK!  My aunt and older cousin would play there music all the time when I was growing up. That was good Hip-Hop/ Rap music!  Music for the soul, right now you can't get that substance like we did when I was a little girl!  I remember being like 7 years old rapping to 2pac, BIG, and Jay.  That's all I would here on the playground playing, cars would be out there just bumping those hits like Ambitionz Az a Ridah!  The last artist with commercial status to bring you something like that was i think Lauryn Hill.  So that's what inspired me to make music and still does!

How would you classify your style, and why?

Wow, that's a hard one!  I guess you call it street/ commercial.   I'm pretty much universal because its hood sh_t on a commercial level.  I give it to you raw but not to raw just enough so that my folk in the streets can get with it and my college students can vibe as well.   Whether it's knocking in your hood or in your suburb all over the world they are going to feel it!  I'll make you dance, and I'll teach you something too, lol!  I touch all topics of life!  I really wouldn't consider myself having a style though, styles eventually go out of style!  I'm here to stay!

What would be complete success for you?

Like the big homey Master P said success is what you make of it; some people strive to be religious and or spiritual, some women wanna be good stay at home moms , men better fathers, etc. My idea of success is doing what I love to do on a major level and being able to give people in impoverished communities positive reinforcement.  I wanna give back 2 ma community through my music!  Getting my mom out the hood and being able to buy her a house would be the ultimate success!  A better means of living for not just myself but my family and friends!

Do you have any albums, or featured tracks coming out, or already released?

Yes my debut album titled Nom De Code: NIKITA is available in stores and online via itunes, amazon.com, rhapsody and more!  The singles PatrĂ³n and Flossin are blazing right now in my hometown on KZRB 103.5, and 99.7 KMJJJ and numerous Clear Channel Radio Stations.  Flossin features an up coming artist out Texarkana also, he goes by the name Joonya!  He goes off make sure ya'll look out for him!  Currently I'm working on my second album with the hottest up and coming producers like Muggs and Sleep Nitty with 187 Music, Jqua the Hitmaker and T. Holmes out of Chicago.  They blessed me with some heat!  I'm in the studio now recording a couple joints produced by Grammy award winner Rockwilder.  I gotta couple of other features for the album in the works but I'm going to keep you guys on your toes anticipating lol!  Oh, I'm also working on a street LP I'm hoping to collaborate with DJ Smallz on that one! So yeah, look out for your girl!

Any final thoughts to your fans?
